The Rosslyn Chapel features strongly in the Da Vinci Code and my new Celtic music C.D. captures the magic and mystery of two thousand years of curiosity and intrigue associated with such a fascinating and beautiful building. Rosslyn is about 7 miles south of Edinburgh, in Scotland.
The C.D. is a recently commissioned album of 14 totally new reflective, relaxing and entertaining tracks and takes the listener on a musical journey around Rosslyn Chapel. All the tracks have been composed, arranged and performed by myself.
The present Chapel dates back to the 15th Century and is very rich in unusual carvings and Masonic symbolism. Recent documentaries and the film and books connected with the Da Vinci Code have focussed more attention on the Chapel and visitor numbers have increased. Some people are attracted by the possibility of secret vaults and the search for the Holy Grail.
Many thanks to Mike Green for his photographs and to Rosslyn Chapel Trust for permission to use their images. This music is dedicated to the memory of my sister-in-law, Wendy. All tracks are copyright 2006 Graham Rowell.
